Citizens and Families

A simple way to reduce energy costs and take part in your local energy transition: join an Energy Community, access the benefits of shared energy and help create value for your community, even without your own solar PV system.

The challenges for families

1. Unpredictable energy bills

Fluctuating prices and costs that are difficult to control make household energy spending increasingly unpredictable.

3. Too much complexity

Rules and procedures can seem complex. Participating and accessing the benefits shouldn’t be.

2. Limited access to renewables

Not everyone can install a solar PV system. For people living in apartment buildings, renting their home or without suitable space, producing renewable energy can seem out of reach.

4. Trust and continuity

Taking part means relying on a project designed to last, with clear rules, transparency and stable long-term management.

The Newton solution

Newton is a national cooperative for the energy transition that helps citizens and families access new energy opportunities in a simple way, starting with Energy Communities.

Joining an Energy Community is simple, even without your own solar PV system: Newton manages the organisational and operational aspects, protects participants and provides a stable and transparent structure over time.

This means every citizen can access the benefits of the energy transition without having to deal with its complexity.

How to participate with Newton

A simple, guided process to join an Energy Community, access the benefits of shared energy and take part in the energy transition, even without your own solar PV system.

01

The local community is created

Together with the municipality and local stakeholders, the Energy Community is activated by engaging citizens and local organisations and making the most of available public and private spaces.

02

You join the cooperative

You become a member of the Energy Community: you can participate as a consumer, even without your own system, or as a prosumer if you generate energy.

03

The Energy Community operates over time

Newton supports its ongoing management, including procedures, monitoring and the distribution of benefits, ensuring the project remains transparent and sustainable over time.

The value for families

Tangible economic benefits, greater energy autonomy and a real environmental impact: shared renewable energy also means cleaner air for families.

01

More accessible economic benefits

Even without your own system, you can access the benefits of shared energy and mechanisms that provide tangible economic advantages for your energy use.

02

Energy as a shared resource

You take part in a model where locally produced renewable energy is shared and its value remains within the local community rather than being lost elsewhere.

03

Inclusion and social impact

The Energy Community can also include vulnerable people and generate value for the wider community through a transparent and participatory model, as already demonstrated in real projects.

Let’s start with your local area

Whether you are a municipality, a local initiative group, an association or a business, we can assess together what is realistically achievable and how to develop it over time.
