Isola del Gran Sasso is developing a Renewable Energy Community with the aim of:
increasing local energy independence
reducing costs for the Municipality and citizens
generating local and social benefits
The municipality’s small size makes Isola an ideal model for a resilient, community-led Energy Community, with an impact on sustainability, tourism and efforts to counter depopulation.
The project includes:
public engagement and local community engagement activities
analysis of building energy consumption
GIS mapping of available rooftops
preliminary sizing of photovoltaic systems
economic and financial modelling
activation of the Energy Community on the GSE platform
A comprehensive technical process that supports the Municipality from the initial idea through to operational activation.
