What is Newton

A national Energy Community serving local territories.

Newton is a national Renewable Energy Community, established as a cooperative, that welcomes and supports local Energy Communities across Italy.

It exists because many communities have the energy, the people, and the willingness to start, but not always the structure to last over time.

Newton provides that structure: legal, organizational, and operational.

It does not centralize territories.
It enables them to function.

Newton is for

Newton is for those who believe that energy can become a shared good and a tool for local development.

Municipalities and Public Administrations

To enhance public buildings and spaces, reduce administrative complexity, and guide the local energy transition.

Citizens and Families

To participate in an energy community even without a system, sharing benefits and responsibilities.

Businesses and Local Activities

To contribute to the energy stability of the territory and strengthen the bond with the community in which they operate.

Associations, Third Sector Entities, and Religious Entities

To transform existing spaces and communities into shared energy serving social activities.

What are Energy Communities?

Renewable Energy Communities are groups of people, businesses, and entities that produce and share renewable energy within the same territory.

Within an Energy Community, the following can participate:

  • Those who produce energy, using part of it and sharing the surplus.

  • Those who consume energy, benefiting from sharing even without owning a system.

Participating in an Energy Community means sharing renewable energy, reducing emissions, and making energy more accessible for everyone.

Advantages and benefits of an Energy Community

Joining a Renewable Energy Community (REC) means accessing numerous benefits, transforming energy into an economic, social, and environmental opportunity.

Savings and economic incentives

Thanks to state incentives for energy sharing, you can reduce energy bills and maximize the value of self-produced energy. Every shared kilowatt-hour generates an economic return to be reinvested in the community.

Social and territorial benefits

RECs promote collaboration between citizens, businesses, and local entities, creating a participatory energy model. Energy becomes a common good, with tangible benefits for the territory and its commercial activities.

Positive environmental impact

More renewable energy means fewer emissions and greater sustainability. Even those without space to install systems can benefit from a more efficient system, contributing to the ecological transition without direct investments.

How an energy community is activated with Newton

Building an Energy Community does not mean doing things quickly, but doing them well.
Newton does not simply activate RECs: it builds energy communities designed to last over time.
